We love to visit Rotterdam! With our agency we travel to Rotterdam quite often and there’s always something new to discover.  There’s a few shops that stock True fashion and lots of new places popping up, offering local design and vintage treasures. Our favourite place to hang out in Rotterdam at the moment  is Fenix Food Factory and surroundings, in Katendrecht.

There are two stockists in Rotterdam definitely worth a visit, because of their ‘true fashion’ collections. Art & Casey (Nieuwe Binnenweg 16-H) stocks People Tree and Natur-el (Zwaanshals 255) has the newest Wunderwerk collections in store.

In need of a healthy breakfast or lunch in between? A stones throw away from Natur-el you’ll findBertmans for a delicious veggie sandwiches and raw cakes from SUE.

A great shop for unique gifts and accessories is KEET, they update the brands regularly and most of them are produced in a very good way.

Rotterdam’s Pannekoekstraat (pancake street, can we live here?) is a 5-minute walk from KEET. This yummy street is filled with lovely boutiques and coffee places. Oh, there’s a vintage gem in the basement from the awesome optician Blick Brillen, called Vintage & Labels by Hendrikus. Hendrikus is crazy about fashion from the old days and is specialized in vintage items from the best period of times. All pieces are handpicked and chosen for its cut, wearability and quality.

Foodwalhalla at ‘the Cape’

After shopping head to Katendrecht. This part of Rotterdam is also known as the Cape and was once home to one of Europe’s biggest Chinese communities. Until the 80’s The Cape was best known as a ‘notorious’ neighbourhood, with it’s sailor’ bars, prostitutes and railway embankments. Nowadays a lot of entrepreneurs have started creative businesses in this inspiring, raw neighbourhood.

A great coffee boutique is Zeeuwse meisjes. The owners, coming from the province of Zeeland, love the story behind the products they sell. From the coffee you’re drinking til the retro chair you are sitting on. Expect a selection of unique and handmade products with a traditional character, plus some vintage treasures.

Last but not least, you’ll find the Fenix Food Factory across the street. This place has it all; great atmosphere, delicious food & drinks and even a bookshop! Enjoy a delicious Rotterdam brewn craftbeer by the ‘Kaapse Brouwers’ and get some locally sourced and super fresh food atRechtstreex. With a beer in your hand, overlooking the skyscrapers of this beautiful city, life must be pretty good.
