Let’s hear it for New York! The city of dreams has everything we could wish for: sustainable shops and cool hangouts. Here’s a selection of shops and markets to visit when in New York.
From April – November we highly recommend the Fort Greene Flea market on Saturdays. This market is held at a 40,000-square-foot schoolyard at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. You’ll find a great mix of vintage and local designer pieces and it breathes an old-fashioned town square vibe. Next: the Smorgasburg food bonanza on the Williamsburg waterfront at East River State Park. It offers delicious food from New York city and its region, a city beach and a stunning view on the Manhattan skyline. Don’t forget to try the organic caramel/sea-salt ice cream! Also stop by artists & fleas Williamsburg, an art, design and vintage market.
Designer shops in Soho
Get inspired in the Stella McCartney store in Soho (112 Greene Street), one of the world’s leading fashion designers with a commitment to sustainability. In the same street you’ll find the Melissa store with a complete range of cruelty-free and recyclable shoes. Bubblegum scent included.
Living room concert
Meet locals and hear them play during a living room concert by Sofar sounds. Check the website when you’re in town and attend a gig at an unforgettable space in NYC.
